Cineflix Rights secures multi-content deal with SBS Australia

The agreement includes 20 hours of factual content, which include "Voices of the Dead," "The Story of Late Night," and "Battle of Alcatraz," amog various others.

Cineflix Rights has closed a deal with SBS Australia for more than 20 hours of factual content from its blue-chip history and documentary slate.  “History has always been a strong performer in the Australian market, and I’m delighted to be continuing Cineflix’s longstanding relationship with SBS with sales of some of the latest additions to our slate alongside enduring titles,” Chris Bluett, SVP Sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux, Cineflix Rights said.

"Voices of the Dead" by SandStone Global for Channel 5, UK shows Professor Bettany Hughes using new technology while putting her investigative skills to the test, revealing intimate portraits of people and how they lived in Ancient Egypt and Pompeii.  

Cream Productions' "The Story of Late Night" was made for CNN in the U.S. The six-part series provides the ultimate accounts of a genre that changed the face of TV forever. "WWII By Drone" by  UKTV and Smithsonian Channel, US, brings Europe’s sleeping battlefields back to life as never before thanks to cutting-edge CGI and drone-mounted technology.

"Battle of Alcatraz" by Hoff Productions for Reelz, US tells the story of one of the greatest jailbreaks of all time. The year is 1946, and five desperate convicts launch a brilliant escape plan until mayhem erupts, causing a standoff at the rock. "Battle of Britain: Three Days" That Saved the Nation (3x60’, Lion Television for Channel 5, UK) explores three pivotal days during World War II in a thrilling minute-by-minute account of how Britain’s exhausted defenders put everything on the line to win the battle for air supremacy.

"The Day Hitler Died" by Finestripe Productions for ITV, UK and Smithsonian Network uses recently rediscovered eyewitness interviews which have never been broadcast, together with archive footage and dramatic reconstruction to provide the definitive account of Hitler’s final days in his Berlin bunker. "The Day Kennedy Died" by Finestripe production commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.
