Cineflix Rights secures two global deals for “Manayek”

Cineflix Rights has unveiled its most recent deals in Europe and Latin American for its popular Israeli drama, “Manayek"." The deal also includes production for season two of the project. “It’s a great thrill and honor to finally bring Manayek to viewers in Europe and in Latin America,” Yoav Gross, CEO and Founder, Yoav Gross Productions, said. “For us so far, it’s been an amazing journey with this remarkable series and we are blessed with the huge success it already received in Israel.”

The distributor recently revealed its plans to further expand its presence in the Europeana and Latin American regions  has announced European and Latin American deals for hard-hitting Israeli police corruption drama "Manayek," and has acquired Season 2 of the award-winning drama which is going into production for Kan 11, following the exceptional ratings performance of its first season. ARTE has also acquired the title for France and Germany, and it was acquired for HBO Max in Latin America. “We are sure that the international audience will find in the series all the elements that made it so successful,” Gross said.

Created and written by Roy Iddan and directed by Alon Zingman, “Manayek” is one of Kan 11’s highest-rated dramas alongside Tehran, which is also distributed by Cineflix Rights and is a global hit on Apple TV+. Manayek won Best Drama Series, Best Director in a Drama Series, Best Screenplay for a Drama Series, Best Leading Actor in a Drama Series, and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 2021 Israeli Academy of Film and Television Awards.  “‘’Manayek has already been a huge hit in Israel and—as we roll out international sales—we anticipate that the series has the same global potential as ‘Tehran’,” Gross continued.

“Manayek” tells the story of Izzy Bachar,, a veteran Internal Affairs investigator, who stumbles upon a police corruption case where the prime suspect is his best friend. On the surface, Barak Harel  is a decorated officer, but as Izzy digs deeper, the two veteran cops find themselves going back and forth with the opposite end of the law.“We’re thrilled to be bringing Manayek to ARTE’s viewers in Europe and HBO’s subscribers in Latin America and we have several more sales in negotiation. We’re also delighted to be picking up Season 2 from Yoav Gross Productions; the cast and story look to be every bit as strong as the first season.”
