FilmRise, a film and television studio and streaming network, and NENT Studios UK, the production and distribution business within the Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT), have entered into a partnership which includes the licensing of over 500 hours of content, including six seasons of the highly popular series “Doc Martin”.

“This new partnership with NENT Studios UK is very exciting for us. It represents FilmRise’s expanding business as a licensing and distribution partner with global entertainment studios,”  stated Danny Fisher, CEO of FilmRise.

“We have done an abundance of successful business with FilmRise under the DRG banner.  Now we are excited to grow this business in various ways with FilmRise as part of the larger NENT Group,”  added Scott Kirkpatrick, Senior Vice President, North America of NENT Studios UK.

FilmRise has acquired all digital rights, including AVOD and SVOD, for the content package in both the North and South American territories. Programs include: the British comedy “Peep Show”; the award-winning “Black Books”; and the original British version of “Shameless”.

FilmRise has also acquired the exclusive ad-supported rights to the first five-seasons of “Doc Martin,” and will be bringing Season 6 to ad-supported platforms as part of the deal. “Doc Martin” is the British medical comedy drama series (starring Martin Clunes) that won the British Comedy Award for "Best TV Comedy Drama" in 2004. The program has garnered a large mainstream, loyal audience over the years and its 9th season aired in 2019.
