ITV has acquired the highly anticipated comedic crime drama “Sunny Nights,” an eight-part Stan Original series, from Cineflix Rights. The acquisition marks a significant addition to ITV’s scripted slate, with the series set to premiere on ITVX in 2026.

Tom Misselbrook, SVP Scripted Development at Cineflix Rights, highlighted the UK appeal of the lead actors: “Will Forte and D’Arcy Carden are already familiar faces to British viewers through two of the biggest streaming hits this year, ‘The Four Seasons’ and ‘Nobody Wants This.’ Together with the incredibly talented Trent O’Donnell, they’ve created a wonderfully funny dark crime series. We are thrilled to be partnering with ITV to bring ‘Sunny Nights’ to UK audiences.”

Darren Nartey, Head of Content Acquisitions at ITV, added: “‘Sunny Nights’ is exactly the type of unique content that our audiences will enjoy; we can’t wait to introduce our viewers to this darkly funny series when it launches on ITVX in 2026.”

“Sunny Nights” stars Will Forte, known for “The Four Seasons,” “Last Man on Earth,” and “Bodkin,” as Martin Marvin, a strait-laced American who partners with his impulsive sister Vicki, played by D’Arcy Carden (“Nobody Wants This,” “The Good Place,” “Barry”), to launch a spray tan business in Sydney. What begins as a modest startup in the back of a van evolves into a chaotic venture as the siblings find themselves entangled in Sydney’s criminal underworld. With a ruthless gangster on their heels, they must navigate survival, legality, and profitability.

Directed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell (“Colin from Accounts,” “Hacks,” “No Activity,” “Population 11”), the series also features a strong supporting cast including Rachel House, Jessica De Gouw, Miritana Hughes, Ra Chapman, Megan Wilding, and a special appearance from Patrick Brammall. The deal was brokered by Sandra Piha, SVP Sales, Pan-Regional, UK, Eire, and Scandinavia at Cineflix Rights.

Produced by Jungle Entertainment (“Mr. Inbetween,” “Population 11”) and Echo Lake Entertainment (“The Great”), “Sunny Nights” is backed by major investment from Stan and Screen Australia, with additional support from Screen NSW via the Made in NSW Fund. The series is created and written by Nick Keetch (“Almost Paradise”) and Ty Freer (“High Fire,” “Almost Paradise”), with executive production by Stan’s Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie, Cineflix Rights’ Tom Misselbrook, and James Durie.
