Following its record-breaking theatrical performance in Mexico, the romantic comedy “Mesa de Regalos” is now available to audiences in the United States via Hulu and Disney+. The streaming release is part of a strategic collaboration between Miércoles Entertainment Studios and the two platforms, designed to deliver high-performing, culturally resonant Spanish-language films to U.S. audiences.
Starring Cassandra Sánchez Navarro and José Eduardo Derbez, “Mesa de Regalos” became the second most successful Mexican film of the last decade and one of the top 15 of all time. The film attracted close to 2 million viewers in theaters and generated approximately $6.6 million in box office revenue, underscoring its commercial and cultural impact in the domestic market.
Directed by Noé Santillán López and written by Juan Carlos Aparicio, Mateo Stivelberg, and Daniela Richer, the film follows lifelong friends Nicolás and Antonia as they watch their peers achieve emotional and professional stability while their own lives remain chaotic. In need of money to pursue their dreams, they devise a plan: stage a fake wedding, collect gifts, and have Antonia leave Nicolás at the altar. The assumption is that the resulting scandal will deter anyone from asking for their gifts back, allowing the pair to split the proceeds.
The cast also features Verónica Bravo, Gustavo Egelhaaf, and Iran Castillo, with special appearances by Ariel López Padilla and Daniel Tovar. The film is produced by The Mediapro Studio and Pampa Films, with Miércoles Entertainment Studios handling U.S. distribution.
Miércoles Entertainment Studios emphasized its commitment to elevating Spanish-language storytelling through premium streaming partnerships. “Mesa de Regalos” is now streaming exclusively on Hulu and Disney+.
