MIPCOM 2023: Cineflix Rights closes multiple international deals

Cineflix Rights has closed multiple international deals for new shows and returning seasons during Mipcom Cannes 2023, and also announced the launch of a new “Property Brothers” show.

Cineflix Rights has closed multiple international deals for new shows and returning seasons during Mipcom Cannes 2023, and also announced the launch of a new “Property Brothers” show.

In detail, Sky (UK), Warner Bros. Discovery (New Zealand), and Paramount+ (Canada) have bought the second season of “Last King of The Cross,” while NBC Universal International Networks has acquired the second season of “Reginald the Vampire” for France, Iberia, Central and Eastern Europe, German-speaking Europe and the UK, along with Sky (UK), Bell Media (Canada), and M6’s 6Play streaming platform (France). Furthermore, Lifetime (US) and Paramount+ (UK) have bought “Sugar”.

“Alongside working with producers to develop and launch new dramas, building successful scripted franchises is a key part of our strategy. I am delighted to be closing multiple second-season deals for two of our latest series, ‘Last King of The Cross’ and ‘Reginald the Vampire,’ which feature A-list talent in front of and behind the camera. We are also building a sizeable movie and feature business with thrillers like ‘Sugar’ continuing to perform well internationally,”  said James Durie, Head of Scripted at Cineflix Rights.

Moreover, the company announced that “Richard Hammond’s Workshop” (season 3) has been acquired by NENT for Denmark and Sweden, Warner Bros. Discovery for its platforms across Benelux, Italy, Iberia, Turkey, German speaking territories, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and BBC for Poland.

“Hitler’s Engineers: Building the Third Reich” has been sold to History (Iberia), RTL (Germany), CBC (Canada), Tanweer (Greece), AMC Networks International Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE) for its Spektrum channel (Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic), and BBC (Poland). Escapist travel show “Holiday Homes in the Sun” (season 1) has been bought by TV2 (Norway), Nine Network (Australia), TVNZ (New Zealand) TV2 (Hungary), Hola TV (Latin America and US), Buenviaje (Spain), Canal+ (Poland), AMCNI CNE for Spektrum Home (Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia), and Home Channel (South Africa).

TVE (Spain) has bought all four seasons of “My Floating Home”; and “Patrick Aryee’s Wild World” has been acquired by Odisea (Iberia), Ushuaia TV (France), BBC (Asia), TVO (Canada), and Knowledge Network (Canada). Lastly, one of the latest additions to Cineflix Rights’ market-leading true crime slate, “Cult Justice” has been bought by Hulu for its US viewers.

At the same time, it was announced during Mipcom that, in partnership with Scott Brothers Entertainment, Cineflix Rights has added the latest “Property Brothers” show to its globally successful franchise. “Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers” inspires viewers to make the most of the home they are already in by transforming dysfunctional interiors into a home they can finally love.
