RTVE COMMISSIONS ITV'S HIT SHOW "BEAT THE CHASERS" FOR ITS PRIME TIME

Spanish broadcaster RTVE has commissioned quiz show "Beat The Chasers", an ITV Studios format which is a spin-off of the popular game show "The Chase". Spain is the fifth territory to pick up the format since its launch last Spring.

The series, locally titled "La Noche de los Cazadores", features ‘the greatest quiz brains in Spain’ taking on four of The Chasers with a chance at winning a ‘massive cash prize’. This commission comes as no surprise, given the astonishing success of four seasons of the daily show "The Chase" in Spain. "Beat The Chasers" will be produced by Mediacrest and is scheduled to air this Spring on TVE.

Toni Prieto Ragel, Directora de programas de entretenimiento at RTVE says, “We are very happy with the results and the reception by the Spanish public of 'The Chase' and therefore we have decided to produce a season of the 'Beat The Chasers' for our prime time slot. We don’t have any doubt that the audience will also love this format.”

The fast-paced quiz show is performing very well across the globe. It wrapped up a successful second series in the UK, delivering a +24% up on ITV's weeknight 9pm slot. In the Netherlands the show is also outperforming RTL4’s time slot every week. In Finland, Beat 'The Chasers' is coming to find Finland's smartest next month, where it will air in the prime time slot of MTV3 , produced by ITV Studios Finland.
