This year marks the 20th anniversary of "GG Bond", the beloved animated character and flagship IP of China’s Winsing Animation, and it celebrates with a series of high-impact campaigns, collaborations, and global events — showcasing the brand’s enduring relevance and cross-generational appeal.

Scheduled for theatrical release on October 1st, 2025, "I Am Bond GG Bond!" — the brand’s milestone anniversary film — was first unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai International Film Festival, followed by a high-profile red carpet appearance at Douyin’s “Movie Wonderland Night.” The film was honored as “Most Anticipated Animated Feature of the Year” by Douyin, reflecting strong interest from China’s digitally native youth.

Bringing back the classic design of the original GG Bond, "I Am Bond GG Bond" follows an old hero’s comeback narrative, portraying GG Bond in a humorous journey of reclaiming his glory. With themes of resilience and reinvention, the story resonates deeply with audiences facing the ups and downs of modern life — blending nostalgia with contemporary relevance.

MAJOR CAMPAIGNS

GG Bond x JD.com: A viral launch in April saw GG Bond collaborate with JD’s food delivery app main page UI, followed by a co-branded T-shirt release in May. Related hashtags generated over 100 million views on Weibo, with a check-in campaign driving over 60 million additional impressions.

GG Bond x Pull-Tab Coffee: The launch of the “Super Energy Cup” and themed giveaways rolled out across China and an outlet in Singapore, combining café culture with playful animation branding to boost fans with lively energy.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES

The “GG Bond 20th Anniversary Nationwide Tour Carnival” kicked off in Guangzhou, featuring interactive musical performances on designed stages and vibrant character installations. The nationwide pop-up exhibition has also expanded to major malls in Anhui, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Suzhou, and Chengdu where themed check-in spots and experiential zones are drawing large crowds. Event highlights include a towering 6-meter-tall GG Bond inflatable statue, mascot parades, live children’s stage shows, and exclusive pop-up stores offering limited-edition merchandise.

Internationally, Boomerang Thailand launched a dinosaur-themed summer school tour featuring GG Bond in June, reaching over 30 schools across Thailand. The tour includes interactive games, prize-winning quizzes, and live stage performances, offering kids an engaging and entertaining experience. This initiative further strengthens GG Bond’s presence in Southeast Asia, deepening connections with young audiences in the region.
