ZDF ANNOUNCES VARIOUS SALES FOR “GREAT INVENTIONS” SERIES

With production of its 35 episodes marked complete, the show is set to air across various European territories, including Russia, Hungary, Spain, and Germany.

ZDF Enterprises announced that its factual series “Great Inventions” has been sold across various regions across Europe. “Launched only a few months ago, 'Great Inventions' immediately attracted a huge amount of interest,” Ralf Rueckauer, Vice-President ZDFE.unscripted at ZDF Enterprises, said. 

With its production officially declared as complete, the show is set to air on SVT in Sweden, TV Kultura in Russia, AMC Chello in Hungary, Slovakis, and Czech Republic, Telefonica Audiovisual Digital in Spain, Servus TV in Austria, and ZDF.info in Germany. "The series, a salute to mankind’s ingenuity, has a wide appeal because it covers the ordinary, the familiar, then takes you on an entertaining and informative journey into how these things came to be,"  Rueckauer said.

"Great Inventions" was produced by Off The Fence, Doc station, World Media Rights, and K22. The 35 50-minute take an in-depth look at at everyday objects and major innovations used in daily life. It often challenges and uncovers bizarre, mysterious, or even accidental origins.

The series explores a large range of innovations that were once considered life-changing but overtime, has now become an object that is taken for granted, such as coffee, computer games, and cold beer. The show not only unveils the technical evolution of the objects, but also its social significance, and a projections of inventions in the future.
