ZDF TO CO-PRODUCE AND GLOBALLY DISTRIBUTE 'SLØBORN 2'

The second season of the drama series, set to begin filming this Spring, is a collaboration between ZDF and producer Syrreal Entertainment. Its first season generated 6.36 million views and 5.75 streaming video archive views, which equals 719,000 views on average/0.44 million viewers per episode.

ZDF Enterprises is set to co-produce and globally distribute the second season of "Sløborn. Season one of the original series covers how a virus outbreak was handled on the island of Sløborn,

ZDF contributes to the production alongside Syrreal Entertainment. The list of producers for the second season includes Sigi Kamml, Christian Alvart, and Timm Oberwelland, in co-production with ZDFneo, Tobis, Nordisk Film, Denmark and ZDF Enterprises' Robert Franke. Doris Schrenner is on the ZDF editing team.

Filming for the drama series will begin this Spring, with the return of Wotan Wilke Möhring, Emily Kusche, Alexander Scheer, Aaron Hilmer, Adrian Grünewald and Lea van Acken as the cast. The show is directed by Christian Alvart and Adolfo J. Kolmerer, while Arend Remmers and Christian Alvart work on screenplay. The online offering of the show, kicking off on 23 July 2020, has generated 6.36 million views and 5.75 streaming video archive views, which equals 719,000 views on average/0.44 million viewers per episode.

After many residents of Sløborn had died of the fatal pigeon flu, everyone left, except for a small group of people who feared exposure to an even larger outbreak on the mainland. The group must then endure a full-on blackout, the battle for food, protection, among other hardships.
