ZDF Studios secures deals for "Agatha Christie's Hjerson" in French territories

French Pay TV channel serieclub (M6 and TF1 groups) along with Radio-Canada Television and RTS for French-speaking Switzerland have licensed the mystery drama starring Swedish actor Johan Rheborg.

ZDF Studios has concluded three deals with French speaking territories for "Agatha Christie's Hjerson" (8 x 44', 4 x 88'). "The huge success of this drama can be attributed to the enduring worldwide popularity of Agatha Christie, one of the best-selling authors of all time," Mirela Nastase, Director Drama at ZDF Studios, said. "Fans can never get enough. And hats off to the team behind Agatha Christie's Hjerson who have created a superb series by giving this classic tale a fresh and modern take."

French Pay TV channel serieclub (M6 and TF1 groups) along with Radio-Canada Television and RTS for French-speaking Switzerland have all licensed the mystery drama starring Swedish actor Johan Rheborg. On serieclub, the series will be launched on 17th December. A winner of MIPDrama's prestigious Coup de Coeur, the title has previously garnered various global sales, including North American streamer Topic, Australia's SBS, Viasat World, Amazon and Walter Presents (UK and Ireland), amongst many others.

"Agatha Christie's Hjerson" was produced by Patrik Andersson and Ulf Synnerholm at BR•F for TV4/C More, in co-production with ZDF, Nadcon and the Government of Åland, and in close collaboration with ZDF Studios and Agatha Christie Ltd. The series was produced with support from Nordisk Film & TV fund. The series was created and developed by Patrik Gyllström at BR•F and was written by Patrik Gyllström, Björn Paqualin, Jakob Beckman, Martin Luuk and Aron Levander. It was directed by Lisa James Larsson and Lisa Farzaneh.

The first ever adaptation based on the fictional detective of Agatha Christie's fictional writer Ariadne Oliver, this playful mystery sees former investigator Sven Hjerson retired after solving some of the toughest cases in Swedish crime history. Meanwhile Klara Sandberg, a trash TV producer wants to reset her career with a true crime show that stars him. There's just one problem, she's never actually met Sven Hjerson…
