"D-Day: 100 days to beat the Third Reich"
To mark D-Day's 80th anniversary, TF1 will broadcast the landmark documentary "D-Day: 100 days to beat the Third Reich", directed by David Korn-Brzoza and produced by ZED. On June 6, 1944, over 150,000 Allied troops landed on the Normandy coast with the objective to break through the German line and begin the liberation of continental Europe. This is the start of a spectacular 100-day ordeal.
80 years after the Battle of Normandy, "D-Day: 100 days to beat the Third Reich" will retrace - hour by hour - the course of this gigantic military operation, from its launch up to the liberation of Normandy via that of Paris.
Featuring never-before-seen restored and colorized archives, and a series of gripping first-person accounts, this film will make audiences live these 100 days from the inside, as close as possible to the civilians and soldiers from each side - far from any mythologizing.
Written and directed by David Korn-Brzoza, and co-written with Olivier Wieviorka, this event film will be available both in 2!45’ and 90’. Its delivery is scheduled for April 2024, for broadcast in June of the same year. It is currently attracting the interest of numerous international broadcasters, and has already been pre-sold to ZDF.
