"Second Shot at Love" captivates audiences with heartfelt romance and touching portrayal of family and community. Choi Sooyoung, Gong Myoung, Kim Sung-ryoung, and Jo Yoonhee wrapped up their heartwarming journey in the recent CJ ENM drama series Second Shot at Love, bringing both growth and peace to the residents of Bocheon Village.

The final episode of "Second Shot at Love", written by Myung Soohyun and Jeon Ji Hyun, and directed by Chang You Jeong and Cho Nam Hyung, planned by Studio Dragon and produced by How Pictures aired on May 17 and offered a meaningful conclusion. It depicted the emotional growth of Han Geum Ju (Played by Choi Sooyoung) and Seo Ui Jun (Played by Gong Myoung) as they helped each other heal from past wounds.

In South Korea, the finale of "Second Shot at Love" achieved an average household rating of 3.7% and a peak of 5% in the Seoul metropolitan area, along with an average of 3.6% and a peak of 4.8% nationwide. The series ranked No. 1 in its time slot across both cable and general programming channels. It also secured the top spot among cable and general programming channels in the 2049 target demographic of men and women, based on paid platforms including cable, IPTV, and satellite—data provided by Nielsen Korea.

In the final episode, Ui Jun was shaken upon learning the truth about his birth. However, thanks to Geum Ju’s unwavering support and understanding, he was finally able to accept the reality. Her presence gave him the strength to confront the trauma of his father’s alcoholism, enabling him to free himself from guilt and move forward—ready to embrace a new chapter as the director of an alcohol addiction treatment center.

Together, the two characters delivered a touching portrayal of what could be called a “mutual healing romance,” deeply resonating with viewers and leaving a lasting message of warmth and empathy between two emotionally wounded individuals. Through Geum Ju’s journey of overcoming adversity, "Second Shot at Love" successfully offered a refreshing take on both romance and family, striking a chord with viewers across multiple generations.

The drama also tackled the subject of alcoholism with sensitivity, portraying the emotional process of recovery without becoming overly heavy.
