Starting November 15, 2020, Russian post-apocalyptic thriller "The Blackout", created by 1-2-3 Production (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) will be available for streaming in Germany on Amazon Prime, the regional segment of one of the world's largest VOD platforms, marked as Amazon Exclusive.

It is noteworthy that the episodic version of the production will be available on Amazon.de earlier than the feature film, which premiered in Germany a year ago on November 22, 2019 at the Kino International, Berlin's oldest cinema.  The TV series "The Blackout" differs from the film in that it depicts the backstories of the characters and their environment, immersing the viewer even deeper in the grim and tense fantasy world that artists at 1-2-3 Production VFX spent over a year and a half working on. Distribution of all rights in German-speaking Europe is handled by Splendid Film.

INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

"The Blackout" was a hit in the French VOD market, where, among other things, it got the highest number of views on the national Google Play segment. In China, the Russian post-apocalyptic thriller premiered on iQIYI, the largest national VOD-platform. Altogether, "The Blackout" has been sold in over one hundred countries worldwide, including the USA, Japan, South Korea, Spain, and Brazil. The international rights to the project are handled by Central Partnership, also a part of Gazprom-Media Holding.

"The Blackout" was an award-winner at the Accolade Global Film Competition in the USA, and lead actor Aleksey Chadov received the Award of Excellence for his outstanding performance. "The Blackout" is the only Russian picture to be entered into Cinequest, an American film festival in Silicon Valley that brings together film and advanced technology.
