CBC has announced the launch of a new FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) channel dedicated to the Emmy Award-winning comedy “Schitt’s Creek,” further expanding its streaming footprint through CBC Gem and additional platforms this fall. The new 24/7 channel features all six seasons of the hit CBC original series, along with the finale special “Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell,” and becomes the latest addition to CBC’s growing FAST lineup, joining existing channels for “Heartland,” “Murdoch Mysteries,” and CBC Comedy.
The new channel is now available to audiences on CBC Gem and will roll out later this year on LG Channels and The Roku Channel in Canada. The move capitalizes on the show's enduring popularity and offers continuous, on-demand access for both longtime fans and new viewers.
“Audiences continue to turn to FAST channels for their daily entertainment and we are always looking to meet them where they are and connect them with their favourite shows,” said Sally Catto, General Manager, Entertainment, Factual and Sports at CBC. “The introduction of a new ‘Schitt’s Creek’ channel makes the iconic series even more accessible, allowing them to enjoy nonstop streaming – and laughs – whenever they want.”
Created by Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy and produced by Not A Real Company Productions Inc., “Schitt’s Creek” follows a formerly wealthy family who must adjust to a drastically different lifestyle in the small town of Schitt’s Creek, which they once purchased as a joke. The series stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Levy, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire, and Jennifer Robertson.
The show made history as the first Canadian series to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy. Its sixth and final season swept the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards with nine wins — the most ever for a Canadian series — and also earned two Golden Globe Awards. Over its six-season run, it garnered 200 award nominations and received critical acclaim for its positive representation of the LGBTQ2+ community, winning the 2020 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and dominating the Dorian Awards.
“Schitt’s Creek” was the third most-watched program on CBC Gem between April 2024 and March 2025, underlining its enduring popularity with Canadian audiences. CBC Gem, Canada’s public broadcaster streaming platform, offers more than 6,500 hours of Canadian content, over 400 feature films, 400 documentaries, and 700 hours of ad-free kids programming. The service is available for free via app and web, and accessible across major connected TV platforms including Roku, Samsung, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, LG, Google Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox, and Rogers Xfinity.
