The UK's content distributor to broadcasters, streamers, and FAST platforms, Cineflix Rights, and the Paramount company Pluto TV, a free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service, announced the launch of the "Real Disaster" FAST channel in the US and Canada. The "Real Disaster Channel" is the latest of five FAST channels launched by Cineflix Rights on various platforms over the past nine months, sitting alongside genre channels "Crime & Justice" and "Property & Reno," which offer more than 1,000 hours of content from a wide range of programming, together with the high-profile single-brand channels "American Pickers" and "Property Brothers."
Launching FAST channels, which draw on Cineflix Rights' diverse library, forms part of the distributor's commercial strategy of maximizing IP revenue from digital opportunities, with more international rollouts to come over the next year.
Regarding Pluto TV, it is available for free, requiring no registration or subscription. Users can access the platform through their web or the Pluto TV app on various platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Android TV, Chromecast, Samsung, and LG devices. Mobile apps are also available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
Mike Gould, SVP, Digital, Cineflix Rights, referred to the agreement: "'Real Disaster Channel' has already been a hit with fans of the genre across various FAST platforms, allowing them to binge on their favorite shows whenever they want. We are delighted to be working with Pluto TV now to provide the channel to their US and Canadian viewers," they said.
