ViX+'s "Mexzombies" wins awards at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival

The horror and comedy film won Best Feature Film- Silver, Best Ensemble Cast, and Best Comedy at the event's 16th edition.

ViX+'s original film, "Mexzombies" was recently awarded Best Feature Film- Silver, Best Ensemble Cast, and Best Comedy at the 16th Edition of the Toronto After Dark film festival. 

Directed by Chava Cartas and produced by Draco Films, "Mexzombies," starring Iñaki Godoy, Daniel Tovar, Bárbara de Regil, Marcelo Barceló and Roberta Damián, among others, is now available exclusively on ViX+ throughout Mexico and most Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.   

The horror and comedy film follows the adventures of two somewhat misfit teenagers: Cronos, a lover of classic cinema, and Tavo, an aspiring parkour expert. Along with their friends from the exclusive Sierra Linda neighborhood, they must face the unexpected challenge of preventing a zombie apocalypse in Mexico City. As they test their friendship, they also search for their first love. MEXZOMBIES mixes comedy, action and horror in a film for young people of all ages.  

Attracting thousands of attendees each year, the Toronto After Dark film festival showcases of new horror, sci-fi and action movies. The festival’s 16th Annual Edition was held Wednesday-Sunday, October 19-23, 2022 at the Scotiabank Theatre in the heart of Toronto’s downtown Entertainment District.
