TV France International has announced that it will showcase its presentation, “Globally Appealing Quintessentially French," at ATF Online+  tomorrow, December 2 at 4:00 pm UTC. The presentation will allow four members to speak about topics related to the Asian market, during which they will highlight new programs available for sale and projects for co-production to buyers and commissioning editors across Asia. The speakers featured at the presentation include  Lydia Kali, Sales Manager of ARTE France, Lucille Ract, International Sales Manager at France TV Distribution, Céline Carenco, SVP Media Sales Distribution at Asia Pacific, and Manya Zhou, Head of Business Development China, Xilam Animation.

Kali will present Arte, which produces over 150 films a year. She will showcase 30 new projects, including Iliade Production's “Epidemics killed The Roman Empire," a historical film for Arte primetime in late 2021, and “The Great Coral Barrier: Heart of the Ocean" by Les Gens Bien Productions. Arte is also intending to co-produce and pre-sell more programs to Asian partners, be they traditional broadcasters or new digital platforms.

Ract will represent France TV Distribution which seeks pre-purchasing partners for some of its projects such as the 90-minute documentary “Earth, A Living Body” or five episodes of the animated series “Ana Pumpkin” by Folimage/Les Armateurs and the 13 52-minute episodes of Mondo TV’s “Disco Dragon.” The company has selections in all genre forms. In addition, it has already established solid partnerships with linear channels such as NHK in Japan, KBS in South Korea, and CCTV in China, and is also increasingly selling documentary content to VOD platforms. China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea represent key markets due to their variety of non-linear channels and platforms. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for fiction programs. France TV Distribution sells thriller titles to both Japan and China and is seeing a marked interest in its new digital series.

Citaristi will cover Superights. Founded in 2013, the company is mostly active in key countries like China, where it has sold its entire catalog, South Korea as well as Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia. The presentation will prioritize two 52-minute episodes of “Will," three two-minute episodes of “Handico," two series for the 6s on disability produced by Cross River Productions, as well as several new series. Carenco will showcase for Xilam Animation, which recently announced its very first Franco-Chinese co-production project. The studio has teamed up with Youku to co-produce its new 2D and 3D animated preschool series “Lupin’s Tales." The launch of the show, also produced with the participation of France Télévisions and Rai Ragazzi in association with Maga Animation Studio and available for sale in other territories, is scheduled for 2021 in China.
