The Mexican actress and producer Kate del Castillo, based in Los Angeles, will be present at Conecta Fiction inaugurating the cycle "Connecting with", where she will talk about her professional plans in her dual role as actress and producer. In September 2019, through her production company Cholawood Productions, Kate del Castillo signed an agreement with Endemol Shine Boomdog, a first look for the development of projects, both fiction and non-fiction, in English and Spanish. In this interview Kate del Castillo will talk about each of her projects including 'Armas de mujer', a comedy that she describes as dark and in which she will be the protagonist and producer, together with Telemundo Global Studios. 'Dr. Shock' (or Shock Therapy) in which she will give life to a Mexican sexologist who lives in the United States. The story is based on the novel by Mexican writer Lydia Cacho, of whom the actress declares herself an admirer and with whom she shares her activism against women trafficking. And, finally, the docuseries 'Tequileando' in which she will rely on the great experience of Endemol in reality shows.

This summer the Latin American star and Telemundo announced her return as the protagonist of ‘La reina del Sur’ (Season 3), now a co-production of Telemundo Global Studios and Netflix. The two previous seasons of this series have been the biggest success in Telemundo's history. With Kate del Castillo, Conecta Fiction's "Connecting with…” space is inaugurated, which values professional talent and human profile of prominent figures in the fiction industry of the focus countries. The space dedicated to France will feature two of the most relevant names in European fiction. Alex Berger as interviewee and the writer, producer and director Steven Bawol as interviewer.

Alex Berger, American producer based in Paris, has developed his career as a producer in both the United States and France. In addition to his experience as an executive producer and creator of television series, he has also worked as a media entrepreneur, having held various senior management positions such as Vice President of Canal+ Group, Chairman and CEO of CanalNumédia & VivendiNet. Currently, he is an executive producer at Le Bureau des Legendes (The Bureau) for Canal+ and continues to develop series in the United States. He will be interviewed by Steven Bawol in what will be one of the great meetings of this edition of Conecta Fiction. This space is offered in collaboration with the French Embassy in Spain and the French Institute in Spain.

Short-Form Series Emmy Awards Semifinal

Inside Content, in collaboration with the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, will host the Emmy® Awards Semifinal in the Short-Form Series category. The selection round will take place at the Baluarte Conference Center in Pamplona on Thursday, September 3, during the celebration of the international networking and co-production event of fiction series Conecta Fiction Reboot.

A jury consisting of several prominent professionals from the Spanish and international audiovisual industry will evaluate the works competing in the Short Series category, a category that includes all those series that, being fiction or non-fiction, have a duration of less than half an hour. The semi-final process is coordinated worldwide directly by the Academy. The name of the finalists in each category of the Emmy will be known in early fall and the winners will be announced in the 48th edition of the most important and prestigious international television awards in the world. The Emmy® Awards Gala will take place in November 2020 in New York.

The Emmy Awards are the most important international recognition a television program can get today. The Semifinal of the Short-Form Series category is hosted by Inside Content and its CEO Géraldine Gonard.

"The semifinals are a fundamental part of the international Emmy Awards competition," said Emmy Judging, Senior Director Nathaniel Brendel. "We thank Geraldine Gonard, as a member of the Academy, and her team at Inside Content for hosting this year's event in Pamplona,” concluded.
