Miptv 2022: Cbc & Radio Canada unveils new diverse unscripted titles

The highlights of the Canadian distributor are science documentaries "Ice And Fire: Tracking Earth’s Climate Crisis" and "The New Human", along with the new factual entertainment series "Gespe’gewa’gi: The Last Land".

CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution is heading to MIPTV 2022 with a lineup of new unscripted program offerings to present to broadcast buyers. Gwen Jones McCauley, Director of Global Distribution, will attend the market to showcase the diverse slate that includes unscripted titles, featuring two new science documentaries: “Ice And Fire: Tracking Earth’s Climate Crisis” (1x52) produced by Yap Films and “The New Human” (1x52) produced by Dreamsmith Entertainment & McLean Media, as well as the new factual entertainment series "Gespe’gewa’gi: The Last Land" (13x22) produced by Rezolution Pictures, which offers an inside perspective on the Indigenous commercial fishing industry.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be returning to MIPTV in-person this year and are extremely proud of our new 2022 spring programs,” noted Gwen Jones McCauley, Director of Global Distribution. “From cutting-edge science to never-before seen natural wonders, and groundbreaking current and historical events; we have captivating content for all audiences.”

The complete line up also include the Special documentaries "The Last Guide" (1x45, produced by Lost Line Ltd) and "Never Too Old" (1x52, produced by Dream Street Pictures), in addition to "Rare Bird Alert" (1x52, produced by Dream Street Pictures).

Among the New Short Docs offered by CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution global buyers can find "Fatima In Kabul" (1x20, produced by Chitchat Productions); "Real Blackity Talk" (5x15, produced by Balling Y’All Productions Inc.) and "Patty Vs. Patty" (1x18, produced by Callowgrove Entertainment), a documentary that revisits Toronto’s bizarre “Patty Wars” of February 1985.
