Patrick Criado
After the success in recent editions with titles such as “Veneno” or “Cardo,” Atresmedia has once again triumphed in the 2023 edition of the Ondas Awards, whose gala took place this past Wednesday. During the ceremony, “La Ruta” won the award for Best National Drama Series, while Patrick Criado was recognized as Best Male Performer for his role in “Las noches de Tefía.”
Premiered in November last year, “La Ruta” is already a benchmark of Spanish fiction that has received the applause of the public and critics since its launch. Created by Borja Soler and Roberto Martín Maiztegui, “La Ruta” is the journey of a group of friends from their farewell in a crowded Ruta Destroy, in 1993, to the day they entered Barraca for the first time, in 1981, when both they and "the party" still retained their innocence. The series stars Àlex Monner, Claudia Salas, Ricardo Gómez, Elisabet Casanovas, and Guillem Barbosa.
Meanwhile, Patrick Criado has been awarded the Ondas Award for Best Actor after starring in “Las noches de Tefía” (Nights in Tefía). The Atresplayer original series has been one of the most outstanding and best rated fiction titles of the season. It was premiered last June and managed to win the favour of audiences and critics alike. Created by Miguel del Arco, the show narrates one of the most unknown episodes in Spanish history: the concentration camp that existed between the 50s and 60s in Fuerteventura where those condemned by the Law of Vagrants and Thugs were held.
