SHAMOLY KHERA: “WE ARE BEING QUITE EMPATHETIC WITH OUR EMPLOYEES”

The Director at One Take Media explains that in the current situation the company is not cutting the salaries because it understands that is a very unexpected situation and its employees need financial support.

The production and distribution company One Take Media has its head office in Mumbai, India, where people are following 21 days of lockdown. “For the initial two or three days we had a few editors working at the office but at this point, when the lockdown was announced, everyone from our office has been instructed to be working from home,” said Shamoly Khera, Director at One Take Media to Señal News.

The executive explained that the company is still connected on calls and using Zoom to kind of keep track of each other doing at least one daily call to the team and understand what is the progress like. “We are being quite empathetic with our employees and not cutting the salaries because we understand that is a very unexpected situation,” asserted.

Khera also highlighted that the entertainment business is one thing that will not stop in the lockdown because people are indoors and they want to consume as much content as they can. As a new strategy, One Take Media has opened some of its subscriptions only channels, “even the non-subscribers for a month for free,” completed.

For the Director at One Take Media, there is a lot of empathy from content houses and distribution houses because it is the time to stand up for each other. “We are figuring out how to do the best work from remote conditions,” affirmed.
