Content powerhouse, Banijay Entertainment, announced the much-anticipated return of iconic gameshow "It’s A Knock-Out" to French screens. Produced by Banijay Production Media, the format is launching this summer on France 2 with four primetime live shows hosted by Bruno Guillon, Nagui and others.
Nagui, CEO, Banijay Production Media says: “'It’s A Knock-Out' is an instantly recognisable and feel-good format that has captivated French viewers for generations. We are thrilled to bring a new modernised version with all the original flavour. Showcasing team spirit, local pride, and sportsmanship, it’s set to become one of the biggest live entertainment events in France this summer.”
Lucas Green, Chief Content Officer, Operations at Banijay Entertainment adds: “We’re taking the nostalgic elements and humour that made 'It’s A Knock-Out' a global crowd-pleaser, and supercharging it with a twist with the added live energy. The team at Banijay Media Production know how to bring the whole family together and I look forward to seeing the show entertain a new generation of fans.”
Originally debuting over 60 years ago, the timeless gameshow is a staple of French entertainment, known for its silly costumes, hilarious competitions and spirited team rivalry. With adaptations in over 20 countries, the format has won audiences worldwide with its mix of physical challenges and unrivalled fun. More than a decade since it was last on air, "It’s A Knock-Out" returns with a twist while keeping its signature elements of high-energy games, slides, turntables, and infamous wall. Every round will be packed with surprises, promising a vibrant, unifying, and intergenerational event. The towns going head-to-head are Beauvais, Gap, Wallers-Arenberg, Coulanges-lès-Nevers, Bourgoin-Jallieu and Saint-Amand-les-Eaux.
Also entering the arena this season is "Topa," the unpredictable mascot designed by Zep, creator of French comic character "Titeuf." In each episode, one team member will don the Topa costume to playfully tease and hype up their opponents, adding another strategic and comedic twist to every game.
Banijay Production Media, part of Banijay France, has built a strong foothold in music-based programming with the likes of successful long-running live music shows "Taratata" and "Don’t Forget the Lyrics." With the addition of primetime gameshows like "Spot On!," launched last year, the company continues to expand its dynamic portfolio of premium game and entertainment programming.
