Banijay announced the creation of a new Banijay Germany joint venture, Dynamic Ally Pictures. Founded and led by "Helgoland 513" executive producers Veronica Priefer and Johannes Kunkel, the Berlin-based company will look to develop, package, produce, and distribute scripted content for the German and international markets.
Marcus Wolter, CEO and co-founder of Banijay Germany, said: "Veronica and Johannes have an impressive instinct for capturing the zeitgeist through powerful returning scripted series. We're' proud to invest in the future of these two creative minds who are known for their hands-on approach, and we warmly welcome them to Banijay Germany as we continue our efforts in diversifying and expanding our content offering."
Veronica Priefer and Johannes Kunkel, Founders and Managing Directors at Dynamic Ally Pictures, said: "Banijay Germany and Marcus Wolter embody the entrepreneurial flair and inspiration we've' been seeking in a partner. The company's' optimism and undeniable creative vision, paired with a pragmatic approach, immediately fascinated us. We're excited to embark on new projects for creatives and clients across the local and international market and welcome the support of the wider group's distribution operation."
Priefer and Kunkel have built a reputation on high-impact, returning drama. First collaborating in 2017, the pair exclusively developed and produced multiple projects for UFA Fiction, including two seasons of the historical RTL+ series, "The King of Palma," which they created. Working across both the linear and streamer landscape, Kunkel produced the Netflix comedy, "Betonrausch," which made it number one in the German Netflix charts. The duo serve as executive producers of the critically acclaimed dystopian series, "Helgoland 513", which premiered on Sky Deutschland in 2024.
Dynamic Ally joins Banijay Germany's high-profile portfolio of producers, including scripted label MadeFor Productions, led by Nanni Erben and Gunnar Juncker, behind hits such as long-running series "Tatort," LGBTQIA+ love story "Loving Her" and "Then You Run," produced in association with UK label Kudos for Sky.
