"The Way Out"
Be-Entertainment confirms Talpa network has commissioned a second season of "The Way Out" in the Netherlands, after the highly successful first series in the country. The show, to once again be produced by the format’s creators "Roses are Blue" in their hub in Belgium, is scheduled to air on SBS6 in the Netherlands this fall.
The first series of "The Way Out" garnered a market share of 12.6%, which marked an increase of more than 210% against the 6% market share in the same slot the previous year (25-59 – Live+7).
On each episode, two different celebrity duos are sent into two identical rooms full of mysteries to be solved. Every test or assignment they complete provides them with a clue to help them figure out the scientific experiments and unravel the codes. And bring them a step closer to being the first duo to find "The Way Out."
The Netherlands isn’t the only country scoring high ratings with ‘The Way Out’. VTM in Belgium has thus far aired two highly successful series, with an average market share of 38.2% for both series. The channel is set to broadcast a third series this fall.
In addition, TV2 in Denmark launched its first series on July 31st of this year, scoring a massive market share of 53.8% (against a channel average 29.9% in A20-60) and a local version of "The Way Out" is also soon to launch on OSN in the Middle East.
