Cineflix Rights secures global sales for its slate of original movies

The slate of content includes "Miracle in Motor City," "Stolen By Their Father," and "An Ice Wine Christmas," among others.

Cineflix Rights has announced various global sales for titles from its growing slate of Cineflix Productions movies to fulfill the global demand for holiday programming and survivor-centric crime dramas based on true stories. “Building our slate of movies is very much part of Cineflix Rights’ scripted strategy," James Durie, Head of Scripted, Cineflix Rights said. "Our focus is on providing buyers with a slate of holiday and true crime movies that have well-known creatives and actors as well as the backing of a strong US commissioning platform. We are seeing an increase in demand for this type of content—as evidenced by these recent deals—and we look forward to releasing several more movies later this year.”

"Miracle in Motor City," the 90-minute part featuring Tia Mowry-Hardrict, music legend Smokey Robinson, and a soundtrack full of Motown hits has been acquired by Paramount+ in the UK, Globo in Brazil, and Bell Media in English-speaking Canada. With Roselyn Sánchez and Lyriq Bent in the lead roles, "An Ice Wine Christmas" follows a big-city sommelier who returns to her hometown for the annual ice wine harvest and begins a holiday romance. The movie has sold to Paramount+ in the UK, TV4 in Sweden, Globo in Brazil, Sýn hf in Iceland, and Bell Media in English-speaking Canada.

"Stolen By Their Father," the account of a woman who says goodbye to her young daughters only to discover that her abusive ex-husband has kidnapped them and taken them to Greece, featuring Sarah Drew, has sold to Channel 5 in the UK, A&E in Latin America, Corus in Canada, and Bell Media in French-speaking Canada. Starring Jennie Garth and Anwen O’Driscoll, "Left for Dead: The Ashley Reeves Story" is the harrowing true story of a teenage girl’s courage and determination to fight for her life following a brutal assault. It has been bought by Channel 5 in the UK, A&E in Latin America, Sýn hf in Iceland, Corus in Canada, Bell Media in French-speaking Canada.
