Leading entertainment company CJ ENM announced that its all-time legendary drama, "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God", will officially premiere in the United States on Unimás, part of TelevisaUnivision, the world’s leading Spanish-language media company.
"We’re proud to bring one of CJ ENM's most iconic dramas to TelevisaUnivision’s audience," said Sebastian Kim, VP of the International Business Department at CJ ENM. “This launch marks an important step in expanding the global reach of K-content, and we look forward to introducing more of our premium storytelling to a wider international audience."
“At Unimás, we strive to offer innovative and culturally enriching content that resonates with our diverse audience, especially younger viewers, who are the natural target for this phenomenon,” said Barbara Musa Ruiz, SVP, Programming Strategy and Scheduling, TelevisaUnivision. “K-dramas stand out for their high production quality, including stunning cinematography, impressive sets, and visual effects that enhance the viewing experience, along with exciting stories full of surprising twists that will deeply connect with audiences.”
As one of CJ ENM’s flagship titles, "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" highlights the increasing global appetite for well-made K-dramas. Originally aired on tvN in South Korea, the series became a cultural milestone, recording a peak nationwide viewership rating of 20.5%.
Starring top tier talents Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun, Yoo In-na, and Yook Sung-jae, it is a fantasy romance drama about an immortal “goblin” who seeks to end his eternal life by finding his destined bride—only to find himself falling deeply in love with her. As fate intertwines his path with a mysterious girl and a grim reaper who becomes his unexpected roommate, their lives unravel in both heartwarming and tragic ways.
This launch marks a significant milestone, as it brings one of Korea’s most iconic dramas to a broader audience via a major linear network.
