Endemol Shine France announced M6’s decision to commission to produce a local version of hit traveling entertainment format "Lego Masters". The deal marks the series'eighth deal for Endemol Shine France with M6. “‘Lego Masters’ is a proven success in multiple markets and we are incredibly proud of this traveling entertainment hit,” James Townley, Global Head of Creative Networks at Endemol Shine said. “Feel-good formats with plenty of optimism that attract a wide family audience are ideal for broadcasters around the world right now and it’s brilliant to see a French version commissioned by M6.”
M6 is the eighth broadcaster to order the show, following deals in the US, UK, Australia, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The Swedish version, filmed and produced under strict Covid-19 guidelines, is set to air on TV4 in the autumn.
The format was created by Tuesday’s Child Productions and The LEGO Group and Endemol Shine Group are the exclusive distributors of the format and all finished tape of “Lego Monsters” globally. “Internationally there is a huge buzz around this format and having seen the success of ‘Lego Monsters’ around the world,” Nicolas Coppermann, CEO at Endemol Shine France said. “We are extremely confident that the show will be equally popular here in France and expect audiences here will fall in love with the creativity at the heart of the show.”
“Lego Monsters” debuted on FOX in February, wrapping up the season as the #1 show in the US and with over 36 million viewers. The format premiered in the Netherlands and Belgium a few months ago, where it led its Saturday night slot as the most entertaining. It later returned to Australia on NINE where seasons 2 was the most successful entertainment premiere of 2020.
