FilmSharks secured distribution rights for China's "A Heroe's Journey to The West"

FilmSharks has taken international Sales Rights to one of the biggest Chinese animation produced in 2024 titled "A Heroe's Journey to The West" (84') which is reported to cost 26M USD. The film is directed by Phil Nibbelink ("The Fox And The Hound") and written by James Felder ("Ultimate Spider-Man").

The ISA agency deal was negotiated between FilmSharks CEO, Guido Rud and Producer's Jon Chiew and Pham Thi Tam of Dongky King Pictures. The film shall have it's World Premiere in Cannes on May 18th at the Marche du film for Buyers and Festivals in English ( also available in Chinese dubb). Based on the Chinese classic "Journey To The West", "A Heroe's Journey to The West" follows a brave and fun monkey as he struggles for survival in the forest and hopes the world will teach him what he needs to know to be a better protector of those he loves.

"A Heroe's Journey to The West" was produced by Jon Chiew ("Too Cool to Kill" and "Hello Mr. Billionaire") and Walter A McDaniel (a comic book artist who has contributed to films including "Deadpool" and "Batman"). Lorenzo Paoli ("Gnomeo And Juliet") was the production designer and Igor Lodeiro ("Kung Fu Panda 3") CG supervisor.
