"Death of a Comedian"
FilmSharks has acquired the worldwide sales rights for "Death of a Comedian" ("La Muerte de un Comediante"), Diego Peretti’s first feature film as director, scheduled for release in 2025. The film is produced by Hernán Casciari's Orsai (known for "The Best Heart Attack"), which finances all its projects through a community-based crowdfunding model, over 15.000 participants.
Peretti is a beloved actor across Latin America, Spain, and the U.S. Hernán Casciari is a versatile figure, whose radio shows, books, films, and stage plays consistently captivate audiences.
Federico Pascua, Senior Sales executive at Filmsharks, attended IBERSERIES and introduced the film in post-production to all buyers. Pascua said: "Diego Peretti’s is one of the most renown actor’s in LATAM and we’ve been in love of this amazing project as his debut as director since day1 and teaming with Hernan Casciari’ ORSAI s vision to produce this film was a great match."
Diego Peretti added: "When we become aware that our existence has an end, that's when we begin to give birth to a life where our dreams and desires take the lead. I'm reaching the final stages of completing my directorial debut, a project that has given me immense personal and artistic growth”.
Co-director Javier Beltramino completed: "I am very happy because together with Diego we were able to tell the existential journey of our protagonist just as we wanted. Getting close to his abyss and seeing it through the eyes of a child."
