La Chouette Compagnie has placed its animated series "Azuro & the Dragon Squad" in China. Hunan's streaming platform Mango TV has picked up the series based on the children’s book series "Azuro," created by Jérémie Fleury, Olivier and Laurent Souillé, and published by Éditions Auzou.

This collaboration marks a major milestone for La Chouette Distribution, the newly launched international distribution arm of the company. This sale to China is the first for La Chouette Distribution since it began its international ventures.

"We are thrilled to enter the Chinese market with a series that embodies universal values of acceptance and cooperation," said Adeline Tormo, Head of Sales. "This is a key step in our global growth strategy, and we look forward to seeing how Azuro and his friends are received by Chinese audiences.”

"Azuro & the Dragon Squad" offers young viewers a gateway to the world of heroic fantasy. The story follows Azuro, a dragon rejected for his differences, who discovers that his uniqueness is a strength elsewhere. The series conveys a strong message of inclusion, dedicated to children with Williams syndrome. Alongside his dragon friends Oria and Vermilion, Azuro forms a rescue unit that helps the fantastical creatures of Krakenstone. The series, commissioned by TF1, is distributed internationally by Newen Connect, apart from China and Canada—where it airs on Télé-Québec—territories managed directly by La Chouette Distribution.

La Chouette’s team will be present at Mipcom in Cannes, where they will unveil the first animated footage of their upcoming original production,"Taki", set to air on France Télévisions in 2025.
