LA Screenings 2023: Globo to launch "The Others" new series

The Brazilian company will also take Los Angeles the soap opelas Globoplay Originals as "Flordelis: Doubt or Worship", "extremists.br", "The Evandro Case: A devilish plot" and "On Behalf of God", the series "Rensga Hits" and the telenovela "All the Flowers".

After going through the main events of the European audiovisual market, Globo arrives at LA Screenings Independents 2023 and launches to the international market the series 'The Others', a Globoplay Originals, which premieres in Brazil in May. The company also takes its diversity of telenovelas, series and documentaries to the event.

“The LA Screenings Independents is an opportunity for us to show the versatility of our portfolio to the market. We have light stories, as 'Never Give Up', denser dramas such as 'All the Flowers' and 'The Others', as well as documentaries with current themes to society. In addition, it is important for us to be present at events in the American market, which is a relevant territory for Globo, to strengthen relationships and open conversations with strategic partners for new business models”, comments Isadora Filpi, Content Distribution & Partnerships at Globo.

The Others' is an urban thriller set in a middle-class condominium in Rio de Janeiro created by Lucas Paraízo, the same author of 'Under Pressure', and directed by Luisa Lima, who also signs 'Where My Heart Is'. The Globoplay Original series brings discussions about intolerance and the difficulty of dialogue in today's society and features Adriana Esteves ('Brazil Avenue'), Milhem Cortaz ('A Mother's Love'), Drica Moraes ('Empire'), Maeve Jinkings, Thomás Aquino, Eduardo Sterblitch, among others in the cast. 

Still within Globoplay Originals, other highlights are the documentaries 'Flordelis: Doubt or Worship', 'extremists.br', 'The Evandro Case: A devilish plot' and 'On Behalf of God', the series 'Rensga Hits' and the telenovela 'All the Flowers'. Created and written by João Emanuel Carneiro ('Brazil Avenue') and with artistic direction by Carlos Araujo, the production is scheduled to be shown in the Americas through an agreement with TelevisaUnivision. 

Among the telenovelas, Globo will also take to the event 'Never Give Up', currently on air in Brazil. Audience success, the production reached more than 30.5 million people per day, adding all views*, in its first two months. Created by Rosane Svartman, author of hits such as 'Total Dreamer' and 'A Life Worth Living', 'Never Give Up' addresses contemporary themes, conflicts, humor and romance. In addition to 'Pantanal', a phenomenon shown in prime time on Globo in 2022, which has already been licensed to more than 100 territories.
