Monday Media Group acquires a majority stake in Rabbit Films

Nordic production company Monday Media Group has acquired a majority stake in Finnish unscripted and scripted prodco Rabbit Films. Monday Media Group currently consists of 12 different production companies in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

Rabbit Films, which is known for formats such as “Over The Atlantic” and “Ultimate Escape” will retain its management team, with CEO Olli Suominen and Creative Director Tuomas Summanen staying in their current positions and as company co-owners.

Rabbit Films is also the producer of local versions of formats such as “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?,” “Taskmaster,” “Love It or List It,” and “Sort Your Life Out,” as well as drama productions like “Summer of Sorrow,” “Bubble” and “Mobile 101.” It also includes a distribution division led by Jonathan Tuovinen, Rabbit International, which will take over for the distribution of the new formats and tape coming from the Monday Media Group companies. 

The deal comes just days after Monday Media Group acquired Danish unscripted company Impact TV, following its bankruptcy filing last month in April. Its other scripted and unscripted prodcos include Feelgood, Teddy, Monday Production, Monday Sport and Monday Scripted in Norway; Monday Media NL; and Monday Production, Koncern, Monday Scripted and the recently acquired ImpactTV in Denmark.

We will be able to offer you a wider and larger range of quality content coming from all the different companies that are part of the Monday Media Group,”  Rabbit Films said in a statement.
