Vuulr, the global online content marketplace for film and TV rights, has thus far facilitated the acquisition of nearly 100 hours of Muslim lifestyle content for Qalbox, the global Muslim entertainment streaming service found inside the Muslim Pro app that features a wide-ranging library of content that celebrates the diversity of Muslim identities and cultures.

Titles being acquired by Qalbox span a rich range of genres, including kids animation, family features, historical documentaries, light-hearted comedies, biographies, thrillers and more. Curated to cater to the interests of Muslim communities worldwide, stories featured originate from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, Germany, France, India, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UK, and the United States.

The repertoire of titles include the multi-award-winning film “Barakat,” the first Afrikaans-language Muslim feature film produced in South Africa, and the country’s official submission for Best International Feature at the 94th Academy Awards in 2022. The film follows Muslim widow Aisha Davids as she tries to bring together her fractured family over Eid-al-Fitr to break the news about her new romance.

Furthermore, among acquired titles from the United States is the highly acclaimed documentary “Dalya’s Other Country,” which tells of the real-life challenges faced by a Syrian teen refugee living in America, and her attempts to balance her new life in Los Angeles while maintaining her islamic traditions.

“Qalbox’s content library puts global Muslim narratives, stories, and realities in the spotlight. Vuulr provides a seamless solution that helps us to discover and acquire fresh and authentic Muslim-centric content across different genres easily and quickly from just about anywhere in the world,”  said Fara Abdullah, co-CEO at Qalbox.
