The TF1 Group and Free reach a new global distribution agreement

The new free service TF1+ will be available for Freebox subscribers since January allowing them to access to over 15,000 hours of entertainment and news content.

The TF1 Group and Free (Fixed and Mobile Ultra-Fast Broadband operator in France) have signed a new agreement, effective from January 2024, which will give Freebox subscribers access to the new free service, TF1+.

Thanks to this agreement, Freebox subscribers will benefit from unlimited access to a broad and diversified offering of over 15,000 hours of entertainment and news content including 200 movies, 200 TV films, 200 full series, an exclusive news offering named TOP INFO, major entertainment franchises in full, a kids’ and young adults’ offering, as well as some fifty FAST channels, focused on popular categories such as romantic comedies, thrillers, mangas and comedy.

In addition, TF1+ offers a unique and pioneering innovations like TOP CHRONO, which creates specific highlights of football or rugby matches tailored to the time users have available, SYNCHRO, a recommendation engine that is the only one if its kind in the world and helps several people choose content to watch together (available from this spring).

Freebox subscribers will also still be able to access all of the TF1 group’s DTT channels (TF1, TMC, LCI, TFX, and TF1 Séries Films) and the TF1 group’s programs on catch-up (MYTF1) through the OQEE by Free app when on the move, and on their smart TVs.

The deployment of the TF1+ platform will be effective during January for subscribers with a Freebox Pop, and then gradually over the following weeks for other Freebox subscribers.

NEW LAUNCH

TF1 is due to launch TF1+, France’s first-ever free streaming platform, on 8 January 2024. "The launch is the latest phase in our digital acceleration strategy" said from the company. "Our new platform reflects the new ways in which video content is consumed, and offers French viewers a one-stop news and entertainment destination with a premium offer of popular, family-friendly programmes," they added.

Available on 4 screens (TV, PC, smartphone and tablet), TF1+ is accessible via boxes (Orange, Bouygues Telecom, and from March 2024 SFR) and virtually all Smart TVs (Google TV, Android TV, Samsung, LG, Philips, Hisense, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, etc).
