ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) announced the end of production for “Asesino del Olvido,” the adaptation of the successful Turkish series “Persona” (Şahsiyet). Directed by Ernesto Contreras and Jorge Michel Grau, the police thriller is a co-production between VIS and Ay Yapim.

The series stars Damián Alcázar and Paulina Gaitán alongside Ari Brickman and Erik Hayser. The cast also includes Dolores Heredia, Giovanna Zacarías, Luis Alberti, José Antonio Toledano, Mauricio García Lozano, Armando Hernández, Juan Carlos Colombo, and Ofelia Medina.

“Asesino del Olvido” is a ten episodes series that tells the story of Pascual, a man who is diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer’s and, before he loses his memory, decides to seek justice for a crime that happened years ago. In his search for justice he’ll cross paths with Jimena, a detective that’s hot on the trail of the mysterious deaths.

The original version debuted in Turkey in 2018 through the country’s OTT platform Puhu TV, and quickly became a smash hit. In 2019, it received several international awards and nominations, including the TV Series Festival in Berlin, European Cinmetography Awards and MedyaTablet Awards for the best web series. The star of the show, Haluk Bilginer, received an International Emmy Award for “Best Performance by an Actor” for his work in the thriller.
