ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) Americas began filming the second season of “Backdoor, Humor Where You Don’t Expect It,” the YouTube phenomenon and one of the most popular and shared Spanish-language comedy brands on social media. The second season, which will premiere soon on Comedy Central and Amazon Prime Video, will be comprised of 20 episodes, each of 30 minutes and featuring a variety of sketches.
Backdoor is the Mexican version of International Emmy Award winning Brazilian comedy channel, Porta Dos Fundos. The channel has created some viral hits, and has 3.7 million followers on social media and nearly 320 million video views combined on YouTube. The first season premiered successfully on Comedy Central Latin America and is available on Amazon Prime Video in the region.
Porta Dos Fundos, the original version of Backdoor, began in Brazil in 2012 as a comedic experiment amongst friends – Antonio Tabet, Fabio Porchat, Antonio Tabet, Fabio Porchat, Gregorio Duvivier, Ian SBF and Joao Vicente de Castroto – to create an alternative to traditional comedy. The Brazilian comedy channel has exceeded 16 million subscribers and has over 7.4 billion video views.
