"To Catch a Thief", a production of ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS), is set to premiere in El Salvador on TCS networks. Based on the classic Alfred Hitchcock film 'To Catch a Thief', the series is an international hit. It first premiered on Telefe—the leading free-to-air TV channel in Argentina, then on Paramount Channel in Latin America and on Europe throughout Paramount Network and Amazon Spain.
Created by Javier Olivares, one of Spain’s most beloved television showrunners, To Catch a Thief stars Pablo Echarri, as Juan an ex thief alias El Gato, and Alexandra Jimenez, as Lola Garay, a police inspector and the wife of former thief Juan.
As in the original film, the series tells the story of reformed thief El Gato, who seeks to unmask a mysterious character who steals his identity to commit crimes on his behalf. Besides thefts and unsolved mysteries, the love story between the protagonists adds even more intrigue to the plot.
The scenes that comprise the 10-episode series were filmed in Barcelona, Blanes and Tossa de Mar—two municipalities in the Costa Brava—and Buenos Aires.
VIS global sales include original productions, co-productions, format sales for local adaptations and sales of canned goods. VIS content spans all genres, from soap operas to dramas, short and long-form comedy formats, and feature film productions.
