From October 14 to Thursday 17, a new edition of Mipcom, the world's leading entertainment content market will be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, with the participation of the most important companies of the whole industry. In addition, prior to Mipcom, from October 12 to 13, MIPJunior, the children's version of the market, will be held.

The market will have 24,722 m² of exhibiting floor, and expects to receive more than 13,800 participants. There are already 4,800 registered companies from 110 countries, and 2,000 of them are exhibitors. Furthermore, 4,800 of the participants are content buyers, whether for digital or television.

This year's theme will be "The Streaming Offensive," which reflects the seismic changes in global distribution models, their impact on content production and licensing, and the global response to the direct-to-consumer challenge. With that as a central focus, 250 speakers from different parts of the world will meet in Cannes within different talks and keynotes.

Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer, has been named “Personality of the Year”. The internationally renowned entertainment executive and producer will be honoured at a gala dinner for leading international television executives at the Carlton Hotel, Cannes, France, and will take part in a keynote interview on Tuesday 15 October.

Argentina, China, Japan and Russia will once again be the highlighted countries of this year. The four nations had already been honored in recent years as the organization had detected a growing potential in terms of creativity, innovation and ability to enter into global collaborations. While the years have passed, these four countries will once again be in the spotlight to get a clear idea of how they maintained their ambitions.

Furthermore, dedicated to championing and promoting diverse and inclusive content that can make an impact on wide audiences, the third edition of the Mipcom Diversify TV Excellence Awards will be held on Monday 14 October 2019, at the Carlton Hotel, Cannes, France.
