The global Football phenomenon distribute by VIZ Media Europe is back with a new show launching in December 23rd.
VIZ Media Europe teams up with Turner and Rainbow to bring back the Legendary Football “Captain Tsubasa” anime series in Italy. Broadcasted on more than 40 TV channels across Europe and leading broadcasters, the most popular Football manga in the world is going to return on screen in 2019.

With a powerful TV plan schedule, including Italia 2, Boing, Cartoon Network, it will make its debuts on a prestigious time slot on Italia 1 December 23rd. The 52 episodes of 25 minutes follow the adventures of the young football prodigy, in both elementary school (episodes 1 to 28) and secondary school (29 to 52).
Launched in 1981, “Captain Tsubasa” has become the idol of an entire generation. The strong determination of the hero Tsubasa and his extraordinary technics have inspired many kids, playing today in top European Football teams. VIZ Media Europe will continue the fantastic story of Captain Tsubasa and support the new show with a robust broadcast, retail and licensing program in Italy.
On an European note, the TV Show is placed on major Kids networks: TF1 group in France, Cartoon Network in Turkey, Biggs in Portugal, Viasat 6 in Hungary, ProSieben in Germany, TVP in Poland and more to come.
Appointed by VIZ Media Europe, Rainbow will build a strong licensing program ahead of the UEFA Euro Cup and the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games coming in 2020.
