Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group announces that its production company in Russia has scored two new entertainment format commissions. Weit Media has been commissioned to produce nine episodes of "The Masked Singer" for NTV.
The surreal guessing game will launch in primetime next month sees celebrities compete in singing performances with their identity elaborately and imaginatively concealed behind the mask. The Russian production marks the fifth Endemol Shine company to produce with Endemol Shine North America launching the original US version on FOX, along with hit series in Mexico, Germany and most recently Italy.
Meanwhile Endemol Shine’s travelling singing format "All Together Now" recently launched a second series on public broadcaster Rossiya 1. The ten-episode series brought the channel to first place in the weekly ratings when it premiered in its primetime slot this month.
The deal marks the seventh returning market for All Together Now with renewals also airing in the Netherlands, Brazil, Italy, Denmark, Poland and the UK. The format has sold to 14 countries and is currently in production in Finland, the most recent country to commission a new series from Endemol Shine.
Yulia Sumacheva, CEO at Weit Media says; “Entertainment is at the heart of everything we do here at Weit Media and a significant part of our success. The Masked Singer has taken the world by storm and I’m sure the audiences here will be equally gripped attempting to guess the celebrities on the show.
