Juan Ponce
Juan Ponce, SVP of Production Operations and Strategy for Telemundo Global Studios, has been promoted to SVP and General Manager of the recently launched original scripted content venture Telemundo Streaming Studios, which seeks to fulfill the growing needs of Latino audiences on direct-to-consumer platforms, Variety reported.
“Juan is a seasoned executive with the perfect experience and track record to lead this new studio and help Telemundo Global Studios continue to pioneer this highly competitive industry. His business acumen and creative expertise will be instrumental in helping us launch Telemundo Streaming Studios to fulfill the growing demand for streaming content among Latinos in the United States and across international markets,” said Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo Global Studios.
In his new role, Ponce will continue to report to Santana and will be responsible for leading Telemundo Streaming Studios as well as continue to oversee production operations, production design and Telemundo’s Underground Producciones in Argentina. He will work closely with Santana and Karen Barroeta, EVP of Production and Development at Telemundo Global Studios, to identify synergies and joint production opportunities for the studios.
Ponce’s first role at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises in 2016 was VP of Finance and Corporate Strategy. Prior to Telemundo, he was CEO and founder of Hispanic startup New Generation Media, which focused on content production and distribution.
