Through a virtual event broadcast live from the Telemundo Center in Miami, Telemundo Studios celebrated its 2022 Screenings, where it presented its content offer for this year, with a strong focus on melodramatic series and several classic productions that return with new seasons.

“Life has changed for all of us this past two years. However, our teams have not stopped working. They have shown resilience, proving they are too strong to stop. We are so proud of this, and also of being the number one Spanish language content producer in the United States,”  commented Karen Barroeta, EVP Production and Development at Telemundo Global Studios.

Committed to create relevant and innovative content, this year Telemundo Studios focused on the genre of melodramas. “This is what audiences are asking for, and we have not stopped listening. We are focusing on stories that connect with emotions, are universal and know no boundaries, always showcasing the high-production values that Telemundo is known for,”  Barroeta added.

Beau Ferrari, Chairman de NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, was the next to speak and was satisfied with the work done by the company during the pandemic. “We are proud of the Telemundo team here in Miami and across Latin America. Everyone has safely adapted to the new environment and embraced it as an opportunity to drive innovation and strengthen our leadership. We are seeing some of the best performances in the history of the network,”  he asserted.

Ferrari also declared that “Telemundo is more committed than ever to doubling down its investment in premium content, to create and deliver the best original, authentic and family-friendly Spanish language programs that resonates with Latino audiences in the United States and around the world”.

With that goal in mind, the company's first big bet and the main attraction of the Screenings was the new season of “Pasión de Gavilanes,” which premiered last night on Telemundo's screen. It is the sequel to the classic soap opera, one of the most successful in history, which returns in 2022 with the same cast and the same writers as its predecessor.

Another huge project from Telemundo Studios is titled “La Mujer de mi Vida,” which according to Barroeta, “delivers on the company’s strategy of offering unforgettable and relevant stories that resonates with audiences around the world”. In this story, a man is betrayed by a friend and left to his fate in the middle of the sea. More than 15 years later, the protagonist returns with a new identity in search of recovering his family.

Moreover, Telemundo Studios presented more projects in different stages of development: a drama about a man accused of the disappearance and death of his wife, titled “Guilty or Innocent”; an anthology series on Venezuelan physician José Gregorio Hernández, “The Doctor of Miracles”; the first television adaptation of one of Corín Tellado's books, entitled “When a Woman Speaks”; the superseries “El Conde de Montecristo” and “Todos los Nombres de Aura”; and the classic hits “El Señor de los Cielos” (eighth season) and “La Reina del Sur” (third season).
