Viaplay recently highlighted details about its new Swedish romantic comedy, "R.S.V.P.." The original film continues the companys ongoing investment in feature-length Nordic storytelling. “I’m so happy and proud to play Klara in ‘R.S.V.P.’. I’m surrounded by completely fantastic fellow performers – this is truly an ensemble piece," Lisa Carlehed said. "It’s a privilege to portray Klara in all her insecurity and charm, and I love the way Moa Gammel gives such a key place in the film to visual style and music.”
Set to premier in the fourth quarter of 2022, "R.S.V.P." is executive produced by Max Hallén, Peter Bose and Jonas Allen for Miso Film, and by Lotta Dolk for Viaplay. Currently filming in Stockholm, the film is distributed globally by Viaplay Content Sales. ‘R.S.V.P.’ is directed by Moa Gammel and scripted by Ella Lemhagen. The film is based on the award-winning 2015 Danish feature "Long Story Short," written by May el-Toukhy and Maren Louise Käehne.
The title features "R.S.V.P." brings together some of Sweden’s hottest talents in front of and behind the camera, with the lead role played by Lisa Carlehed, recently nominated for Best Actress at Sweden’s 2022 Guldbagge Awards for "The Emigrants." The star-packed cast also includes Oscar Töringe, Christian Hillborg, Liv Mjönes, Johannes Bah Kuhnke, Felice Jankel, Madeleine Martin, Anna Granath, Kristofer Kamiyasu and Line Verndal.
The film spans four years and is structured around nine chapters, each of which focuses on a different holiday celebration. At the center of the narrative is Klara, a 37-year-old single nurse whose perpetual search for love is increasingly causing her to question whether it even exists. “Holiday celebrations mean different things for all of us – but they always mean something. Viaplay’s latest film project is a warm and thoughtful story that offers a fresh view on this universal human experience," Filippa Wallestam, NENT Group Chief Content Officer, said. "The amazing talents behind ‘R.S.V.P.’ will make it a compelling addition to ‘Hilma’, ‘Stockholm Bloodbath’ and many more on Viaplay’s fast-growing original film slate.”
