Global content production and distribution company ADD Content is bringing three new series "Unchained",  "The Commune" and "Roboteacher" to MIPTV, all available as both scripted formats and finished series. Hadas Mozes-Lichtenstein, co-Founder and Head of International at ADD Content, commented, “We have a strong track record in finding a home for Israeli content on international broadcast platforms - both the original series and local remakes - so we are excited about the potential of these two powerful dramas – ‘The Commune’ and ‘Unchained’ – both completely original with a world of compelling characters and engrossing plots. We’re also bringing the charming and light-hearted ‘Roboteacher’ to market – a live-action comedy which takes a tongue-in-cheek look at A.I. in a local high school – which will resonate with young viewers the world over.”

POWERFUL DRAMAS

Sumayoko Production’s prime-time show "The Commune" is a HOT Original production which airs on HOT 3 in Israel, and is created by Yona Rozenkier, Avner Shefa, Amitai Ashkenazi, and Ori Weisbrod. The drama follows Yair, a young Israeli man who has been living abroad in Germany with his girlfriend and a promising career ahead of him, who must return to his home country when the Kibbutz he grew up in falls on hard times. The kids he knew, now all young adults, have been living in a communal building belonging to the Kibbutz which is threatened by bankruptcy – meaning they could all become homeless. Compelled to stay and fight for what’s left of their commune, Yair finds himself living with his former classmates, and rediscovering the dysfunction and intimacy that comes with it, as well as some darker elements hushed up by the Kibbutz elders.

Original drama and scripted format "Unchained" is produced by United Studios of Israel and aired on Kan, Channel 11. It was created by Joseph Madmony, Tamar Kay, and David Ofek, produced in collaboration with The AVI CHAI Foundation and with the support of Gesher Multicultural Film Fund and the Israel Film Council. The series has also been selected for the Panorama section of Series Mania.

The drama explores the reality of Jewish women unable to get a divorce without cooperation from their estranged husbands. Without consent, or proof that a missing husband is legally dead, these women remain chained to their old lives and unable to move on. Aviv Alush (“Beauty and the Baker”) plays Yossef Mourad, a Rabbi, who acts as a hybrid detective and psychologist for women whose husbands either deny them a divorce or have disappeared. Mourad will go to any lengths within Jewish law, and sometimes outside of it, against the Rabbinical establishment, to get closure for the women he represents. However, his world begins to crumble when he realizes that the woman living beside him - his own wife Hannah - is herself a prisoner bound by religious and social laws.

KIDS TITLE

Kids live-action sitcom "Roboteacher", created by Elad Hen and Sarel Piterman, produced by HSCC is also launching, offering A.I. hijinks and kooky comedy aimed at 6 – 12 year olds. The show's 2nd season is currently on air at HOT KIDZ.

In “Roboteacher”, junior high school students Osher and Michal discover a fantastic secret: their teacher is actually… a robot based on A.I.! If that's not exciting enough, they realise that they can manipulate the robot’s programming to get what they want. Jorge, the science teacher at the school, is the unlikely creator of the Roboteacher. Not only has he never managed to invent or discover anything new about the world, most of his attempts have caused damage at best, or global crises at worst.
