MIPCOM announced the addition of a new “Tech & Creativity” conference track, set to go live on the MIPCOM Online+ platform and the MIPCOM YouTube Channel. The conference will become available on Monday, 12th October. "By aiding industry creators and production through improved TV technology, such as 4K and 8K, as well as HDR, with the capability of offering a dynamic image that is an unforgettable and exciting emotional experience,” Hiro Shinohara, General Manager, Group 3, Corporate Technology Strategy Division at Sony Corporation, said.

In collaboration with Sony Corporation, the "Tech & Creativity" conference provides insight into the most recent innovations affecting the creation and production of content, which are increasingly being correlated with normalcy in the TV industry. The track offers an exclusive interview with Sony Innovation Studios' Executive Vice President and General Manager,  Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Technology Development Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Bill Baggelaar, as a keynote, with discussions about virtual production, remote production, and cloud-based production.

A presentation from Framestore will provide examples of Oscar, Emmy, and BAFTA-winning VFX expert supervisors, who offer solutions for future productions that help reduce the risk of creative decisions. Executives from Fremantle North America and Endemol Shine join a conference on remote shooting and share their experiences of adjusting to this new and challenging situation.

MIPCOM Online+ is the first digital edition of its kind to offer access to inspiring keynotes, screenings, conferences, intel, pitching, networking, among other things, for a month, scheduled to roll out from 5 October to 17 November. "In this year marked by the very real situation of a world pandemic, I believe that the most innovative technology solutions are key issues like virtual, remote, cloud-based production, and, of course, AI," Shinohara said.
