CBC will soon debut an abundance of programming related to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics games, set to begin airing in two days. The network’s schedule will continue throughout the 16-day competition. CBC’s live primetime coverage of preliminary competitions aired yesterday at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) while Canada’s Women’s Softball team bats against Team USA. Meanwhile, CBC Sports is set to air tonight at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT). Produced by CBC Sports’ Brenda Irving.

The hour-long preliminary documentary will include members of Canada’s Women’s Gymnastics team, well on their journey to compete in Tokyo. The contestants provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the hardships of Canadian gymnasts. The show will feature Ellie Black, Brooklyn Moors, Shallon Olsen, Ana Padurariu, Ava Stewart, Rose Woo, and Victoria Woo.

The event’s new digital series set to premiere on CBC will be accessible on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, the official CBC Olympics section, CBC Gem, and the CBC Olympics app. In addition to the news shows, CBC Sports’ popular weekly series “The Breakdown,” “North Courts,” and “Bring It With Morgan Campbell” will continue airing throughout the globally-acclaimed game competition. Related TV show, “The Extra Hour,” will stream live every day at 6 PM to provide coverage around-the-clock. “While You Were Sleeping” will cover the remaining content, reporting on missed major storylines viewers would want to catch up on, with Jacqueline Doorey serving as a host.
