Quintus Studios, the international factual content distributor and channel owner, announced that A+E Networks EMEA has acquired documentary series “Beyond Borders”, which was created through the company’s partnership content funding model. A+E Networks EMEA is the latest channel partner on “Beyond Borders” joining DPG Media Group’s Belgian channel VTM and RTL Germany’s NTV in acquiring the series which also plays out across Quintus Studios’ Free Documentary channel in the US, UK, AUS, India, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
“Beyond Borders” (5 x 60’), is a documentary series featuring exclusive access to U.S. immigration frontline services ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) and was produced by US/ Irish indie Peninsula Television. The show captures the high-stakes game of cat and mouse played out every day across America between law enforcement and those regarded as foreign criminals evading justice.
The Quintus Originals' financing model sees Quintus partner with indie producers to co-finance projects alongside their AVOD channels and linear broadcasters, generating longer term income from the lifetime exploitation of productions across all potential broadcast and digital channels.
Quintus Studios Head of Sales & Co Productions, Anouk van Dijk, said: "‘Beyond Borders’ is a great example of the benefits of the Quintus Originals model. We're thrilled this series by Peninsula was embraced by A&E UK. It shows compelling content and great storytelling resonates in both the linear world as well as on digital.”
