Autentic Distribution secures worldwide sales for “In Search of Monsters”

The feature doc follows Mohamedou Slahi, a formerly imprisoned and officially exonerated alleged al-Qaeda terrorist, in search of his perpetrators.

Autentic Distribution has sold "In Search of Monsters" by German prodco Hoferichter & Jacobs to several TV channels and heads into preparations for upcoming MIPCOM with a raft of new sales for its Spring and Summer Slates.

The feature doc follows Mohamedou Slahi, a formerly imprisoned and officially exonerated alleged al-Qaeda terrorist, in search of his perpetrators. Today, Slahi is a free man and wants to take revenge by forgiving. The feature doc (90’) is also available with 52 minutes running time and remembers 9/11 from a different perspective. Autentic Distribution sends the polarizing and captivating production to Deutsche Welle, Swiss’ SRF, Norway’s VGTV, Finnland’s YLE, Belgium’s VTM and TV3 Catalunya as well as to Al Jazeera and Japan’s NHK.

In the German-speaking region, Autentic has secured a package deal with ProSiebenSat.1- owned channel Kabel1Doku including "Container Ship XXL" (52’), season 1 of "Stone Men" (6x45’) and "Return to the Moon" (52’). German free TV channel ntv has picked up Season 2 of "What Went Wrong" (6x52’) and has prebought "Empire Builders: China" (3x60’) as well as "Empire Builders: Ancient Greece" (2x60’) and "Empire Builders: Dutch Golden Age" (2x60’). Both mini-series will be launched during MIPCOM. N24Doku will broadcast "Engineering the Future" (6x60’) and "Badass Professions" (6x45’). ORF Universum has picked up "Napoleon – The Beginning of the End" (90’), which has also been licensed by Mediaset Italy together with "Container Ship XXL".



On the other hand, mini-series "Berlin 1945" (3x52’) will be available in Canada on The Knowledge Network, while Norway’s NRK as well as Sweden’s UR have picked up "One year in Norway’s Lofoten" (2x52’).

In Central and Eastern Europe, Hungary’s MTVA has licensed a 32 hours package including long running series "At Our Neighbour’s Table" (143x30’), while Polish free TV channel TVN has added season 2 of "What Went Wrong" to its program. Over 70 hours of factual content find a new home at Czech Republic’s FTV Prima including "Engineering the Future" and "Plague Island" (52’) as well as "The Dyatlov Pass Incident" (4x52’, 8x30’) and "By Mail Ship through the South Seas" (2x45’). Another 70 hours package deal was sealed with Poland’s free TV channel TVP. Disney CEE has licensed 10 hours for NatGeo. The package includes titles like "Europe’s Forgotten Dictatorships" (2x45’) and "The Science of…" (12x30’). "Love around the World" (75’, 2x52’), "History of Home" (3x60’) and other titles will go to Greece’s ERT. Bloomberg Asharq has added over 12 hours. Among others, "Container Ship XXL", "Engineering the Future" and "History of Food" (5x30') will be broadcast and streamed in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
