Rai Italia renews its structure with new departments

The Rai Board of Directors, meeting in Milan under the chairmanship of Marinella Soldi, expressed a positive opinion on the appointments of the new Gender Managers proposed by the Chief Executive Officer, Carlo Fuortes.

The Rai Board of Directors, meeting in Milan under the chairmanship of Marinella Soldi, expressed a positive opinion on the appointments of the new Gender Managers proposed by the Chief Executive Officer, Carlo Fuortes. The choices were all related to people already in service within the company.

This major reorganization assigns the editorial responsibility and the budget to ten new departments, called Editorial Genres. The ten main departments by Genres include Entertainment (Primetime and Daytime), Drama, Documentary, Sport, News Talks, Culture, Cinema, Digital Contents, and Kids.

The role of TV Channel Director will disappear, while radio will maintain its organization. Stefano Coletta, current Director of Rai1, will head the Prime Time Department, which deals with evening entertainment programs, while Antonio Di Bella, currently Rai correspondent from New York, will go to the Day Time Department, which deals with entertainment programs throughout the day.

Silvia Calandrelli, Director of Rai Cultura, was chosen for the Culture and Educational Department. Fabrizio Zappi, Deputy Director of Rai Fiction, will take office in the Documentary Direction, while the Fiction Department will go to the Director of Rai Fiction, Maria Pia Ammirati. Meanwhile, the Director of Rai Ragazzi, Luca Milano, will take on the role of Director of Kids; Head of the Digital Content Management will be Elena Capparelli; and Francesco di Pace, Head of Structure for Cinema and Fiction at Rai3, was appointed to the Cinema and TV Series Directorate.
